New Shoes, New hair…

New Shoes, New hair…

There are two amazing things about this photo. Firstly it is the first time this year I have taken a portrait of Theo outdoors without him wearing a jacket – and Hallelujah to that, it has been a long time coming.

Secondly you may have noticed that he has finally finally had a haircut! I wish I could tell you that we found the magic formula of either carrot or stick that persuaded him to go willingly into the chair and submit to grooming, but I would be lying.

It was in all honesty (despite the lovely salon) a pretty awful experience. In the end I had to sit on the chair and use my four limbs to anchor his four limbs whilst he screamed, wailed and thrashed about like a demon possessed. Daddy’s patience wore so thin that he had to be sent on an errand to temporarily remove him from the equation, but we got there in the end and he looks so much better as a result.

Also on the agenda this weekend was getting him measured for shoes. I know we are relatively lucky in that we haven’t had to replace his shoes every month as some parents do, but even the six months between fittings seems to go in a heartbeat and another £40 or £50 is being shelled out for new footwear. Any ideas we had about shopping around for cheaper shoes after his fitting fell by the wayside when we realised his old ones were so small they were actually rubbing his heels.

Still at least one member of the family is looking distinctly smarter to start the week, even if Mummy’s clothes shopping requirements always seem to drop off the bottom of the list!

What a dude! We have the same issues with haircuts in our house two. The eldest, at four, has just got over his phobia of hairdressers but the littlest screams as soon as he spots where we’re going. He has the worst mullet come mod cut ever. I’m stuck for what to do, to be honest.

What a lovely photo! I always used to hate having my haircut when I was younger too, I wonder why we fear it so much as children!?

I love his tiger top and new haircut, very cool! Also hooray for being able to ditch the coats 🙂

I was worried Ez would hate having his hair cut but as long as I use the clippers (and NEVER scissors!) then he loves it, he asks at least once a week for a trim, tiny oddball 😉

Thanks for linking up with Point + Shoot xx

I love longer hair on boys but I think the cut looks great even though it sounds like it was quite an experience! Thanks for sharing! x
