We’ve been keeping a secret…

We’ve been keeping a secret…

I should probably start this post with a round of apologies… To anyone whose texts, emails or phone calls went unanswered earlier on this year, this is why. Or more to the point, the lost hours and days on the sofa feeling generally rubbish were why – Baby number two is on the way!

Some of you will have already guessed what I was hinting at when the blog posts stalled, I wrote March off as “a funny month” and revealed I had been under the weather, but that was as close as I could get to letting the cat out of the bag, so thank you for quietly humouring me.

Baby number two

The latest addition to our family will be arriving in October, shortly after Theo turns 4 and starts school. I see mums who do a great job of juggling two children close in age, but I didn’t feel that was me, so we took a gamble and held off a little with this one.

Theo is delighted he will be getting a brother or sister and is telling anyone who will listen. His favourite choice of boy’s name (for he won’t entertain that it will be a girl) is “Theo” which errr… wouldn’t be at all confusing!

Now I have made it into the second trimester (I’m 16 weeks on Friday) I’ve been feeling much better health wise, although still prone to the odd afternoon nap if I can manage one! A few people have asked if I’ll be doing pregnancy vlogs and after initially dismissing it, I am now giving it some consideration… They didn’t exist last time around, or at least I didn’t know they existed!

Many congratulations! Such lovely news. My pregnancy days are over but I’d love to go back in time to when my two were babies. Those newborn cuddles are the best!

Congratulations Clare – like you I took time between the girls (3 years to the day b/w Kate and Laura). I really felt I had set up the first one before becoming distracted with the next one. It did mean endless years of diapers and a lengthy period before all were in school, but I think it was worth it. And in spite of the age difference they are so close. Now we know why you have been nesting!! So great that your parents are close by – they will be so excited.
