I know what you’re thinking… He’s wearing the same t-shirt as last week? But no, it’s actually not the same one, just one of the famous three that are on constant rotation through his wardrobe and the washing pile. This one came first which is why it’s slightly more faded than the other one!
It’s been a busy weekend for us which is why this post is slightly later than normal. On Friday Theo’s new reception teacher visited us at home to
inspect the house get to know him in his home environment and an hour later Jim and I did a speedy handover and I dashed off to London for the start of Blogtacular (which is a whole other post for later in the week) Sunday was a blur of dog walks, a seaside brunch and some chores, so photo taking had to wait till today.
I won’t lie sometimes it’s very tricky to capture a picture of Theo I’m happy with every week. Some of the time I completely fail at the task and feel grumpy all week about sharing something that I didn’t feel was up to scratch, but at other times it forces me to try new things or get the camera out at moments I otherwise wouldn’t. Deadlines and a little discipline are no bad thing, particularly if you want to push yourself to improve.
I used to love the healthy competition that came with being a member of a photo club and this link up now provides me with that same challenge. If you want to improve your photography summer is one of the most forgiving times to do it and with the kids off school for a big chunk of time it’s also the perfect time to photograph them, so why not make it your resolution to join in with Living Arrows for the summer holidays and see what you can capture? You might even want to try a 30 day free trial of some editing software (I recommend Lightroom) and see how far you can push yourself….
