5 beautiful and useful items for the small home office

I’ve spent a big chunk of my life working from home in one capacity or another and one of the great joys of freelancing is being able to take control of your workspace. Whether it’s big or small, chances are your home office space is going to be a lot more interesting than a generic laminate desk at a big corporation ever would be.

In fact I’ve made the office space in our house so welcoming that I frequently find all three of us and the dogs camped out in at weekends, which wasn’t quite the plan!

Today I wanted to share with you some of my favourite beautiful and useful items for the home office…

CUBERT141 copy

The Cubert is a minimalistically designed touch-activated LED light and charging station with two 13 amp sockets and two USB points. It’s perfect for a home office where space is tight as it means you can charge up to four items and run a lamp off just one power socket. It also has a very compact footprint so it won’t hog surface space on a desk and the white exterior means it fits beautifully with modern interiors.

Wire Wall Storage with Hooks - Medium

Wire wall storage with hooks

With a touch of the urban industrial feel, this wall storage would be perfect in any creative home office space as it provides shelving to store larger items like books and dedicated hanging space for tools, scissors, rolls of washi tape or keys. Being made of wire it’s also partly transparent and therefore not to imposing if mounted on the wall of a small room.

Tesco White Marseille Metal Dining Chair £49 Dalston White Study Desk £49 Opal Side Table £29

Metal chair and desk combo

Finding a stylish and practical desk and office chair for the home has never been easier. This metal chair and desk duo come from the most unlikeliest of places… Tesco! I know, I couldn’t believe it either and you can get both together for less than £100, leaving room in the budget to splurge on other items to beautify your space.

Block Medium PegBoard - Yellow

Another way to keep your desk clear of clutter whilst creating storage space on your walls is to add a pegboard. This bright yellow pegboard from Red Candy does a great job providing a splash of colour on your office wall too. Use it to hold receipts, photos and anything else you don’t want to lose.

Even in a small workspace there is always room to be organised. These veneer deco trays which come in a range of shapes and sizes are perfect for ensuring that your favourite pen or essential crafting tool is right where you want it when you need it.
