The Home Life Photography Project
At this time of year we are all doing a bit of evaluating, working out what we enjoyed in 2015 and what we want to do more and less of in 2016. Photos still remain central to what I enjoy and want to share on this blog and despite my bold ambitions to “go pro” in 2015 (another post for another day) next year I want to focus on what I enjoy and to do it well, which is what the Home Life photography project is about.
On the first full weekend of every month I will be picking up my camera and trying to document my family life in a series of photos, to make this project rewarding and inspiring I want others to join me so we can share our images with each other and see new creative ways to record our families. Don’t worry, no one will have to commit to be there every month, but if you want to join me sometimes or every time, I’d love to have you on board.
The idea is loosely based on the 1 Day 12 Photos concept which aims to capture 12 photos across 12 hours, but you can do more or less that number depending on what suits.
I’m trying not to just create another link up, the linking part is supplementary to the main project. What I want to do is to find a community of people like me who want to grow their photography, to experiment with their pictures.
If you’d like to join me then start this weekend by picking up your camera and recording your family and the things that they do. This isn’t about smiling for the camera or telling your kids to stand in a certain place to get a perfect shot, it’s about documenting behind on the scenes of your family. Shoot what you eat, the shoes you wear, what your house looks like right now (mess and all) your bags of shopping, the car, the post, the pets…
Then come back and share it with me on Monday from 7am, I will be thrilled if you join me and I cannot wait to see what you photograph.
PS – You might want to bookmark this page which includes all the dates for the link up in 2016 and the code for the linky badges.
