Hello, I’m Clare. I started my blog to record my adventures when I was posted to the Falkland Islands with my job with British Forces Broadcasting and now 8000 miles and over 12 years later quite a bit has changed….
These days I blog about ‘Creative Family Living’ which encompasses a whole lot, including my photography and my hobbies of sewing, upcycling and cooking. The name Maybush Studio comes from my She Shed in our garden which is used for a whole load of different creative applications from sewing to filming videos…
I am married to Jim and mum to Theo (born 2011) and Alice (born 2015) and we have two slightly crazy dogs we picked up on our travels. I think there is quite a lot of creative thinking in every day family life, from making the finances stretch, to using up leftovers and ensuring the kids don’t get too bored on wet weekends, so that part of my life gives the ‘family” element to ‘Creative Family Living’.
I work part-time as a marketeer and in house creative with Pinty Plus UK and Plasti Dip UK making videos and writing about upcycling and craft projects. I’m also a brand rep for the brilliant Huxter Kids and a stock photographer for Getty Images.
I regularly collaborate with Le Boat & Springfree Trampolines and I also do the occasional sponsored blog post, but mostly this blog is just my creative space on the web.
